95 Brewers Broadcasts Going Hi-Def

By: Staff, The Business Journal of Milwaukee

Fox Sports Wisconsin said it will televise 95 of its 136 Milwaukee Brewers game schedule in high-definition television this season, an increase of 30 games from 2008.

The first Brewers HD telecast will air on April 24 against the Houston Astros, Fox Sports said Tuesday.

FOX Sports Wisconsin began its HD telecasts in 2006 when the regional network delivered 17 Brewers games in 2006, followed by 17 games in 2007 and growing to 65 games in 2008.

The Brewers HD schedule on FOX Sports Wisconsin is subject to change, the company said.

Meanwhile, WMLW (Channel 41) said Monday it is entering its third season of carrying Brewers baseball over-the air and on Time Warner Cable channel 7. The 2009 schedule entails 16 games, including a pre-season game against Arizona Wednesday at 3 p.m.

WMLW will re-air games in their entirety immediately following the conclusion of the event.

Once the regular season starts, the station will run “The Inside Pitch”, a half-hour pre-game show before each game.
